RFQ - Product Development

Project Overview:
VerifyID is seeking a full-service product development partner to design, develop, and deliver a compact, plug-and-play ID verification device (“Nexus”) for point-of-sale use. The device will be mounted next to a payment terminal and used to scan and verify physical ID documents in compliance with EU regulations.

Scope of Work:
We are looking for a team that can handle the entire product lifecycle, including:

• Embedded PCB/board development

• Component sourcing (cost-optimized, compliant, scalable)

• Integration of MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) reading

• QR code scanning

• OCR reading of EU national IDs and driver’s licenses (Look under this text for example of said ID)

• Physical hardware design and prototyping

• Firmware & software cooperation with our in-house dev team

• Assembly & production planning

Note: The scanning technology can be based on open source or modified open source libraries if applicable.

Software Collaboration:
VerifyID’s internal software department will collaborate closely with your development team to optimize performance and cost. You will be responsible for firmware and embedded logic, and we will handle front-end and cloud integration.

Requirements:

• Must have proven experience with full-cycle hardware product development

• Documented work on ID or document scanning devices is a plus

• Must be able to begin work immediately (Q1 2025)

• Ability to scale production and provide cost estimates for 100 / 1,000 / 5,000 units

• Fluency in English communication, structured reporting

Deliverables:

• Full BOM and schematics

• Functional prototype(s)

• Production-ready hardware

• Documentation and testing report

• Firmware and integration documentation
